I was really worried because of some of the negative reviews, but I got lucky. My grandsons bike came perfect and it was very easy to assemble. You need absolutely no tools. Everything basically snaps in. Only issue is they sent a manual for a different bike all together and the box that said it had the manual in it did not have a manual in it. The wrong manual was just thrown on top of the frame of the bike.
