It’s a lot more powerful then you would expect
I just cut 1/2 a cord of wood, some 18″ wide with this little 14″ chain saw, it worked excellent. It feels cheap but is fairly strong and well put together. Be careful of the adjuster when putting it together, it was difficult to align, but works well once together. I have a 16″ poulen and been cutting trees for years, this was great for the bucks, if it breaks down I will post here as I cut wood for heating my house.Quiet, batteries lasted till the very last tree, and completed the first cuts…

Cheap basic chainsaw that works
Pros: simple, powerful, works. Affordable. Feels cheap but Still a better experience than a cheap gas saw. I noticed it can fit makita 18v batteries, I have mostly milwaukee tools/batteries so I bought a makita 18v tool adapter to use M18 batteries on this chainsaw and it works great.Cons: saw likes to skip and bounce at first and the chain gets slack regularly so you have to tighten as you go.Upgrade the chain and it runs great.Stock battery life is 4/10. Highly recommend adapter to use better batteries. The Milwaukee M18 batteries provide more power and last longer even through an adapter.Final thoughts: Affordability plus upgraded chain plus M18 battery adapter takes this saw from a 5/10 to a 7.5/10.Oh an anyone complaining about bar oil leakage doesnât understand that chainsaws donât leak oil – they mark their territory. Itâs not a defect, just store it vertically.

Feels ‘cheap’
I suppose I should start this review off with the positives; number one; it is beastly powerful. The small physical size of the battery; belies it’s power. Granted a top handle saw isn’t meant for production cutting; so I guess the size of the battery is OK for it’s targeted use.Two; the motor is huge! It looks like it should have a higher capacity battery on it. Full bar cuts are no problem. It appears to be well balanced; even with the 14″ bar.Sorry to have to say; but it feels/looks like a toy! The plastic is too ‘soft’. When tightening the side cover; there is no positive stop. It feels like you have to be careful not to overtighten the nuts; or you’ll pull the studs through the body of the saw.Also; the chain tensioning mechanism isn’t very reassuring.I own a dozen or so ‘plastic’ chainsaws; and they all seem very rugged; and that’s what I am comparing this to.I really want to like this saw; but only a long term trial will tell.Oh; one more downside; it leaks oil all over the place. It seems like it has a level to leak down to; and it will eventually stop.

I got this after the hurricane to help clean up small branches. This thing couldn’t cut a piece paper if you soaked it in water! This is my fourth chainsaw over my 63 year life time. I know how to adjust them and what direction the chain goes. The assembly was easy and only took a couple minutes. The branches I tried to cut were thinner than my wrist, so I had high hopes. It barely got through the bark. I tried various combinations and even reversed the chain out of desperation and got the same results. After all was said and done, I was unable to make a single cut with this thing. Money wasted.

I was clearing some small trees from my land. It worked well for a while then the toolless chain tensioner knob flew off somewhere into the woods so now I have to figure out a workaround or scrap it. Up until that happened it was working well enough.

EDIT: I didnât return the chain saw. The customer service department worked diligently with me – every day – to resolve my issue and to make sure that I had a product that was functional and suited my needs. Itâs been a long time since I experienced customer service that bent over backwards to correct an issue and I would highly recommend purchasing this product from this seller.I was so excited to buy this chainsaw. I have two of the smaller ones (6″ and 8″) and needed a larger one for some larger diameter brush. Instructions are not good – but it’s a chainsaw so not complicated. There is only one place for the chain to be – despite the claim that there is a knob on the saw to make small adjustments in the chain tension. There is a pin on the bracket that holds the chain bar on, and the bar fits over two bolts. Those two things hold the bar in one position and there is no where for it to move. The chain seemed a bit too loose for me, but I went ahead and tried it and sure enough – it popped off.There is a gear that the end of the chain goes around and that is where the chain tension should adjust, but that’s not what happens.I’ll be returning this.
