    Impressive!
This was my first experience with a powerful battery powered piece of equipment so I was a tad skeptical that it would be as powerful as a gas mower. But shockingly it was equal and a tad better at self propelling.
    PROs
    – pretty much pre-assembled – just a few adjustments and putting on the output shoot
    – battery charged faster than others I’ve owned and extra battery that came with the promotion ensured we had plenty for our 3/4+ acre lawn
    – the original battery lasted for the majority of the lawn and stayed strong. Used extra one at the very end
    – amazingly easy to start compared to combustion engines. I have always encountered trouble with starting the engine on first try but this was a breeze. I’d buy it again just for that (and no gas/oil mix).
    – should be much lower maintenance if taken care of (I have a small electric weed wackier and it has sun perfectly several years so far.
    PRO/CON
    – The self-propelled was was powerful – but almost too much for a small person. When I first tried it, I felt like an owner being “walked” by their large dog. It pulled me along almost jogging. Since then o have reserved using it only for inclines for which it is perfect
    CONs
    – it’s heavy. Which is good as it keeps low to the ground when mowing but though it fold up easily, it’s heavy when carrying it into the shed. The instructions say it shouldn’t be left outside.
    – worked slightly less well on a longer patch that hadn’t yet been mowed. Had to go over it twice. But never had to do that again as works well in subsequent mows.

Awesome cutting power, quiet, and the smell of grass while you mow
My previous mower was a gas-powered Honda self-propelled machine with twin cutting blades. I did not want to give up its advantages, but wanted to leave behind the gas and oil. This EGO machine delivers, and then some.
Same: they both start reliably (I wouldn’t ever trade a Honda engine for B&S), and they do the heavy part of moving themselves along the terrain. Both of them can do our third acre on a single helping of fuel/electricity.
Different: this mower is much quieter than the gas machine. It is NOT silent, but the noise is that of an electric motor and whirring blades rather than the explosions of a small engine. My spouse and I found that we could talk to each other without shouting while one of us was operating the EGO.
The self-propulsion works even when the main motor is powered down, so you can have the mower help pull itself from place to place. Unlike the Honda (and as far as I know all push-along mowers), I know how much charge is left on the battery.
The wheels adjust with one lever. The handle adjusts with one lever. And when the handle is folded down completely, it can be used to roll the mower and stand it up on end for storage. (No oil draining out when you do that, either!)
On two runs, we have not exhausted the battery either time. The battery (10.0amp model) and charger are both heavy duty; you’ll be startled the first time you plug in the charger and its cooling fan runs briefly.
I have not stalled or stymied this mower once, including in some taller and wetter brush. It works like a champ, and with a price comparable to what I paid for the Honda ten years ago, I feel like I’ve lost nothing and gained a whole lot by moving to an electric mower.

    Quiet and Effective
I have a Honda combustion mower that works pretty well. However, I already have an ego leaf blower and ego trimmer, so I thought it made sense to try the mower. I got this one sort of on a whim, but it got good reviews on Amazon and on Consumer Reports. It wasn’t cheap, but if it lasts, it will save in the long run–in theory. I’ve owned it for about a month now and have used it twice. My yard isn’t huge, but it’s got some steep parts. Part of why I wanted this type of mower was that it’s lighter than my regular mower for those steep hills. It works great for this and it is noticeably easier to do those steep parts of my yard. Additionally, I wanted something quieter and this thing is very quiet compared to my regular mower. My wife commented at how quiet it was. As for battery life, I can mow my entire lawn on a single charge of the big battery that comes with it. Whether it will stay that way after, say, a year, remains to be seen. That being said, I have like, 3 smaller batteries that would fit it, so I could easily snag one and finish off the yard if needed. I’m a little concerned about the long-term durability of the mower because it’s basically all plastic. I guess you have to compromise on materials if you want it to be lightweight. I think a carbon fiber mower would be a bit absurd/expensive. Anyway, so far so good.
