Perfect solution for me
I wanted outdoor cameras that were battery powered, solar charging, allowed saving video to an SD card, and that did not require a subscription or in home listening device like Alexa. These cameras checked all the boxes, had a lot of good reviews and were on sale for a very good price.
Other nice features are being able to listen and talk through the cameras, and the security light that can be turned on/off or set to auto for color video at night.
Setup & installation was easy. The initial pairing of each camera with my wifi and phone was the only finicky thing. It worked best to be in the same room as the router. But it did take several attempts to get each camera to pair. There were two methods – the easiest one has a QR code on your phone display and then the camera tries to scan the code. I could not get the camera to scan it. The other method worked after a few tries. But once the cameras are paired, you donât have to do it again.
I installed the cameras outdoors and have had no connection issues with my wifi. After about 4 weeks of use, the cameras have worked flawlessly.
I was concerned about the solar charging because itâs Dec/Jan in Ohio. We have had little sun with most days being cloudy, rainy or snowing. And I have my motion detection set to maximum distance, maximum sensitivity, and recording length also set to max. These are not the setting to use for best battery life, but despite all of this, the cameras have all remained at 100% charge! Each camera gets triggered a few times a day but it is not heavy use.
As for video quality, I have not had any other cameras to compare, but the footage is clear and quite good IMO.
Some have mentioned the lenses fogging up, but I have not had this issue. Iâll have to see how they do in the humid and hot summer.
There are two things I think others might consider depending on their situation: First, the cameras have a field of view of 100 degrees. If you are mounting these in a tight space, that might not be a wide enough view for some people. Second, if you can not mount these in the open where the sun can hit the panel on top of the camera, you might want a different model with a separate solar panel that can be mounted in an open location.
Overall I am very happy with the cameras and they are perfect for my needs.

Very satisfied with the image, performance, and quality of this solar wi-fi camera
This solar powered wi-fi camera works exceptionally well and is very good value. First, itâs made using durable materials and is surprisingly hefty (probably due mostly to its internal battery). The case is metal with a rugged built-in solar panel. The mounting bracket thatâs provided is also sturdy.
Setting up the camera was easy using the instructions provided. You first need to download the Wansview app to your phone. You then add the appropriate S1 camera device and select the âWi-Fi connection by QR codeâ option. Point the camera at the QR code displayed on your phone to initiate the process. It only took a couple minutes to connect the camera to my homeâs wi-fi network and add it to the app.
I’ve been using this camera for a while now, and I’m impressed. The solar panel works very well and keeps the camera fully charged even on cloudy days.
I primarily use the camera to monitor my backyard, including a nearby birdfeeder. The image quality is very good as can be seen in the attached photos and video. The night vision is also very good in IR mode. I set the camera to âAuto infrared modeâ and do not use the built-in camera lights available by selecting âFull color nightâ since they not needed in my application.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with this camera. The image quality is excellent, the solar panel keeps the battery charged, the wi-fi reception is very good, and it’s overall a great value for the price.

Can’t say enough great things about this camera!
I cannot express just how much I love these cameras! I’ve used several camera’s around my house before and one of the biggest hassels is always trying to figure out where I can put them and still be able to plug them in so they will work. The struggle has definitely been real HA! With these, I was able to completly elimate that issue! I wasn’t sure how well the solar panels would work at first, but I am highly pleased with the results!! I haven’t had a single issue with them staying charged at all. Granted, they do also run on batteries, but the built in solar panel keeps them charged and has greatly extended the life of the batteries. Even better, you don’t have to worry about the power going out and losing your power source. The camera will continue to record. They can even hookup to my wifi without issue and the picture quality is GREAT!! And for a set of four solar powered cameras, the price couldn’t be better. The camera itself is very well made and heavy duty, and the app is easy to pull up and use on your phone from anywhere. Another added bonus that you don’t see in most other camera’s is the color night vision! Typically night vision on a camera is all black and white. Not with these though! I love the picture quality and that you can see in color even when it’s dark!! It supports both SD and cloud recording and will auto detect when there is any movement or sound. If you’re wondering how it holds up in the weather, we recently had multiple tornados come through and the cameras were even able to withstand the severe rain and winds! Overall, this is a great product and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solar powered camera system.

très satisfaite de cette petite caméra solaire qui contrôle la garrigue jouxtant ma maison. aucun fil, capte le wifi de ma terrasse. Installation facile grâce au code QR et intégration dans mon appli wansview (j’ai déjà 3 cameras Q6 dans ma maison et idem chez ma maman). Les images sont claires (bonne qualité de nuit également), les alertes sont réactives en cas de détection de mouvement et arrivent sur mon telephone. Bon rapport qualité prix. elle fait le travail que j’attendais ! J’avais sollicité le service clients pour choisir la caméra adaptée : il est à l’écoute et répond rapidement.

I bought this in December and have been using it for the past 2 month, in winter. I thought that the solar camera might struggle keeping its battery topped up in winter. I was wrong. The battery is still topped up fully just using solar charging. Most impressive.
The image is very clear and night time vision is superb. There is a small led light that provides night lighting when motion is detected. Recording are kept on the cameras sdcard ( not included) and can be viewed on demand or downloaded using the camera app. The app itself is easy to install and use. There is a subscription to use on-cloud recordings BUT the camera still allows 10 seconds on-cloud recordings for free which is deleted daily at midnight. Motion alerts from the camera is great, with just a few seconds lag. I have a Ring camera as well and the phone notification from both the Ring and this camera both arrives at the same time.
A very easy to use camera which because of its very efficient solar battery charging, one can install high up and not worry about battery power and enjoy live or recorded CCTV.

Cámara con apariencia muy sólida y una placa solar de materiales y terminación singular y resistente. Aguanta la baterÃa muy bien sin problemas de momento. La configuración desde wansview, como siempre, muy sencilla. Habra que ver cómo se comporta en envejecimiento del plástico en la intemperie y la estanquidad. La calidad de la imagen bastante buena. Tiene funciones de detección de presencia y añade sirena. Añado el 4 de enero 2025..Después de varias semanas a la intemperie y con mal clima, el comportamiento de la cámara es excelente, la baterÃa se mantiene perfectamente al 100%, por la noche, si accedes a la cámara baja ligeramente, pero por el dÃa, aún nublado, carga muy bien. Un detalle más que observé de la baterÃa, es que al conectarla el primer dÃa se mantuvo en el 80% varios dÃas y luego cargó completamente…

Installed this camera a few days ago, picture quality is excellent, I mounted it at my front gate that doesnât have a power supply. Customer service is fantastic (Melody) contacted me by email to see if I needed any assistance pretty much the day I received my camera. I didnât need assistance as the instructions were straight forward and only took minutes to set up. Melody again contacted me and said if there is any issues to contact her and she would take care of any problems and not to worry I have one year warranty. I was quite impressed with that kind of service. Iâve only used the camera for about a week but am impressed so far !!
