Great Saw for the money!!!
I can’t say enough about how happy I am with this saw. The price was great (compared to what Home Depot sells it for).
I had the older version and the motor died. I tried to fix it, but finally gave up. I found this newer version Ryobi makes at a great price here on Amazon. I pulled the trigger and bought it.
When it arrived, I was impressed by the quality in innovations made on this newer version. The only thing it didn’t have was a laser guide. But everything else was build so much better that I quickly forgot about it not having a laser. I love this new one.
It doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles of the other Ryobi miter saws such as a bigger blade, and slider for cutting wider pieces, but the tools with those options are much larger and less convenient to toss around. This tool is small. Easy to toss around and it can cut bigger pieces of wood than advertised if you just take a few moments to line stuff up when making a double cut. Really, I love it! Hope this helps you decide.

Compact, Lightweight, Cuts Great, Husband Loves it.
We had been borrowing a neighborâs miter saw. It was this heavy beast of a machine that we always had to lug about because we did cutting outside, but didnât feel safe leaving it outside.
When the neighbor finally needed it back, we were finally in a position to buy our own. We happened to stumble across this one, and we were already on Team Ryobi, so it made sense. Husband was worried it might be too small to be really useful, but we decided to try it.
He LOVES it. Itâs so light and easy to pick up and move about. Itâs tiny and compact, which makes storage convenient. And battery-powered means that weâre not limited in WHERE we use it. Itâs large enough and powerful enough to do everything that we need to do. (Sometimes and item has to be cut from both sides, but that was true with the larger miter saw that weâd been borrowing as well.)
Heâs been using it for a while now on home renovation projects, and itâs been great.

A great lightweight trim saw
I do a lot of trim work during remodels and it gets exhausting setting up my big miter saw which is quite heavy. I decided to give this a try to make my life a little easier. This saw is small, light weight and can handle most of the trim boards I cut. Even good for basic framing if the project is not big. I recently installed about 150′ of trim in the remodel I am working on. I was able to do almost all the cuts with one battery. I attached a shop vac to the back of the saw and was able to do all the cutting with very little mess inside the house I was working on. No more going outside for every cut. Most of my tools are Milwaukee, but recently, I have had really good luck with Ryobi products.

Saw works great for it’s size and the project being worked on. Had trouble changing the blade
When attempting to change the blade for a trim blade the screw that holds the blade stripped out. Seems to me that it was put on way to tight by the factory. The screw is an Allen type and the Allen wrench provided stripped as well as the screw. Ryobi provided information on getting it to a repair shop however I would have had to pay for all delivery costs either for postage to Ryobi or gas to a local repair shop which was over 30 miles away from where I live. After some time I was able to drill the old screw out without damaging the saw threads. I plan on finding a replacement screw without a Allan head.

Perfect for most small DIY jobs – portability is more useful than I realized
For a few hundred bucks in boards and the cost of this saw, I saved a ton of money by installing all new trim in my house myself – didn’t take that long either. I’ve also found it’s just so dang convenient for many other cutting tasks. Just grab this thing, set it right next to where you’re working, and it couldn’t be slicker. I’ve also cut some pretty wide boards with this, and found it pretty easy to cut from both sides. You can’t tell it’s two cuts vs one. I also don’t need saw horses or a table/bench – a Styrofoam block or two is all that’s needed if I have it sitting on the ground. I will note than I have a 4 Amp battery and 2 1.8 Amp batteries. This thing runs a ton better when it has plenty of juice. I use it in AZ, where it’s pretty hot (which is hard on battery performance), and I could get a full morning of cutting with the 4 Amp. By the time it was too hot to be outside cutting (cause even with the bag, there’s plenty of dust) my battery would be reaching the end. I’d say about 4-5 hours of pretty steady use.

It really does the job
Great saw, it does exactly what is expected and really conserves battery power. Very pleased.

Fair value
Fair value. The sawdust bag is not great but works. Remember it does not come with a battery

Item arrived with No accessories just an empty bag inside the box, so obviously a customer return that hadn’t been quality checked before being sent back out again !!!!!!!!!!
Wasted my time of collecting it, to have to print a returns label and take it all the way back to the shop, not the smallest of item’s either.
